Cutting
to openings
Measure the widest point
of the opening or door frame, and cut the bar 3mm less than this
width for clearance. Position the fixing strip A, and fix into
position (as described below). Locate the moulding B onto the
fixing strip A, and commencing from one end, gently tap the moulding
down into its locked position, using a soft faced mallet or a
striking block and hammer. Ensure that your striking block is
softer than the hardwood moulding and that it is large enough
to protect your hardwood moulding.
Concealed
Fixing
Drill the plastic fixing strip, for clearance of number 4 screws.
Using the hardwood flooring anclliary, position the plastic fixing
strip along the centre of the doorway or opening. Align the plastic
strip to ensure it is parallel with the required position. Then
screw into position using number 4 screws.
NOTE: ensure there are no pipes or electrical cables likely to
be punctured. As an alternative you may prefer to fix our mouldings
using adhesive. A useful tip for this method is to apply the
adhesive to the hardwood moulding, leaving small areas free at
250mm centres. In these areas apply hot melt adhesive. Position
the moulding correctly and press into position, hold until the
hot melt takes effect, (this will hold the moulding in position
while the primary fixing adhesive cures).
